schools of the future
Schools of the future have been brought into perspective as technology has gotten greater in schools. My vision for schools of the future are that we will have cell phones in class, computers built into desks, and many assignments will be online. Who knows, maybe we won't have to come to school at all. I feel that many people learn in different ways; however, I also feel that we can all adapt to an environment that is more technologically advanced. It may take some getting used to, but schools of the future will be more time efficient. In other words, students will be able to get more done in a smaller amount of time. For example, instead of writing notes, everything will be typed or available online. I feel the value of school will increase and become better for everyone, once they can get used to the new technology. Learning technology is not automatic, so would we lose school time to have to learn how to work the software? Some differing questions come to mind, but technology in school is the way to go. No more keeping up with books, except maybe a manual on how to work your individual computer. Schools would have a lot more technology labs, but classrooms would be smaller and hallways would be wider because there would be no need for lockers and such. Everything you would ever need would be right at your fingertips. Schools would not have to be in session for as long either because school work would get done so much faster. There would be no need to stay at school for 8 hours. We could hold all our classes in one classroom, which would be a huge change for us, since we are used to moving around so much. Schools wouldn’t necessarily be better, they would just be much more efficient and less time consuming. Students would also be able to hold their interest for longer. Schools of the future are coming, are you ready?

video assignment
I thought the videos were a good look at the future of technology. Though I have some concerns about how much control the computers will have over the human race, I believe technology has become more efficient and less time consuming. Some of the facts in the videos were mind blowing and get me thinking about where schools will be in the future. My man question is, "How will my children be effected in the future school systems?"

Create your vision of school in the future.
Your response should consider the following points:
What is your vision of school for the future?
Why is it good for society?
What does your vision of school value? Technology, 21st century skills, specialized learning.
What differences would you observe in the structure of the school when compared to the "traditional" school of present day?

Mission Statement
In order to pursue my dreams in life, I will focus on all the things God has blessed me with such as athletic abilities, musical talents, and academic abilities. I will honor my family and set a good example for others around me by being a leader in my community and in my church. I will deal with adversity by putting my faith in God, and trusting what my beliefs are based on Him.

assignment 3-why leaders fail
Why Leaders Fail
Many leaders have a tendency to start out very successful but somehow end up failing instead of succeeding. Though not everyone is cut out for a leadership role, we all have to be a leader in the sense that we stand up for what we believe in and voice our opinions. Some leadership qualities are more important than others, and it is our job to determine the best way to reach our goals in leadership. The main reason why leaders fail is that they have lost the love of what they do. To be passionate about your work is one of the best qualities to possess when being a leader. When that passion for what you are doing is gone, then your leadership is not going to be up to par. It all goes back to how much you care about something. When you stop caring or when you lose the love for something, your leadership skills will suffer. Secondly, poor communication is the second worst thing you could possibly encounter. Your followers cannot understand the point you are trying to get across to them if the communication is poor. Thirdly, a shift in focus is the 3rd reason why leaders fail. Without their eye on the prize, they lose sight of what is important, and their focus is shifted dramatically. Fourthly, the leader may have an ethics slip. These people become "pleasers" and do what people want them to do instead of sticking to their own morals and beliefs. Fifthly, if a leader has poor self management skills, then their ideas of greatness will fall apart. Organization is key for leaders because if they don't have their thoughts together, then their plans will fall apart.
To conclude, I feel that in order to be the best leader possible, you must have courage, charisma, and have a passion for what you do. Loss of passion is loss of everything you were trying to do in a particular leadership position. In order to achieve greatness, leaders have to appeal to his or her followers. They should have all these qualities to be the best they can be.

assignment 1
"Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
What wisdom do you think the author of this quote is trying to convey?
Respond on your blog, in an essay of at least 200 words.
Due Tuesday January 18th.
The wisdom that this author is trying to convey would have to be that all of our actions are linked together somehow. Everything we do has meaning, and everything is linked together for a purpose. I believe everything this quote is saying because I believe in the snowball effect that we each face in our daily lives. Some actions are better than others, and we all learn from mistakes; however, when you speak, you can’t get those words back. Soon enough, the words will change into actions. If you believe something and say something long enough, then you will eventually start putting actions with the words. I feel that all our actions make us who we are. Our influences cause us to either act the good way or the bad way. The only good that comes from our bad choices are the lessons learned from those bad experiences. Your character is what makes you the person you are. I am a strong believer that your actions make you the person that you are, and who we are determines where we go in life. I believe bad experiences are good sometimes because they are good learning experiences for everyone. You have to face the bad sometimes to make the good stand out.
